via FoxyTunes    The town that I used to live in is making an area that will be used just for a dog park. They had been using a baseball field by the Boys and Girls Club as a temporary place for people to go and play with their dogs. That was really nice of the town to let them use that area, but kids used it too, and they smell bad.
Anyway, I’m glad they will finally have a place to call their own. The park is now fenced, and they will be working on getting it seeded and set up so all the doggies and people will have a nice area to hang out in. Hopefully, the park will be ready by this June. Remember the Pit Bulls that were bred for fighting by that idiot Michael Vick? Well, 22 of them are now being cared for by the wonderful people at Best Friends. Best Friends is a no-kill animal sanctuary in Utah, where dogs, cats, horses, birds, and all kinds of animals can stay (for their lifetime, if needed), and have a great life.

The Pit Bulls that survived the horrible treatment that they received at the Vick residence are all in separate kennels, and they are starting to warm up to people again. I know I wouldn’t be so forgiving if I was that mistreated, but Pit Bulls aren’t as mean as everyone thinks they are. These dogs will kill other dogs, though, since they were trained to do that. But around people they are sweethearts.

My humans visited Best Friends a few years ago, and are talking about visiting again. At the time, they met a sweet Pit Bull named Isis. Apparently, she was there because she liked to eat chickens, and her former owners were trying to raise chickens. I guess that didn’t work out too well.
